Theme: Making Magic: The Creative Process
Federal Way native, Erik D. Willis got his start in the professional music industry after attending college at Howard University. There he met members of the burgeoning R&B group, Shai, and Marlon Wayans of the famous Wayans family. Erik’s ability to connect purposefully with his college friends led him to tour the world performing with Shai (whose song, “If I Ever Fall in Love” became a longstanding R&B hit), as well as a long collaboration in music and TV/Film with Marlon that included Erik being named Director of Music for the Wayans Bros. show on the WB/CW network. He’s since gone on to compose music for films such as White Chicks, Dance Flick, and more.
